“Thanks to Karen & Ricardo ...”

... I am in love with this great sport! As a 55 year old woman with no swimming or snorkeling experience in recent years, I was a little nervous at the prospect of jumping off a boat in the middle of the ocean to do my open water dives. But with Karen and Ricardo's gentle guidance, I soon developed the skills to safely and respectfully explore the awesome underwater world of Cozumel, and grew confident enough to relax, appreciate the beauty around me and just have fun! We dove with Dive Choice Mexico the entire week (including a day trip to the mainland for cenote diving) and were wonderfully spoiled with lots of personal attention, which I doubt we would get at the bigger operators. Karen and Ricardo are excellent instructors and really do make you feel part of their "dive family". Thank you, Dive Choice!

“Most relaxed dive school ever"

After a long search on the net and ample research we decided to do our Padi here.
Although an internet operation, it is run by 2 people who use the hardware and facilities of their preferred supplier at hotel El Cid in Cozumel.
Rental equipment is good, and people are even better.
Ricardo (some 20 years of experience, certified) is cautious and cool, takes the time it needs to make you feel comfortable under water, ding the exercises. When the scedule has to be changed it is no problem.
Dive Choice Mexico uses small, fast boats and is always watching security and biology, finds a lot of strange fish and knows about them.
Together with his wife Karen, this is a great couple to dive with.

Let me start by saying that it is without hesitation that I highly recommend the services of Dive Choice Mexico when diving in Cozumel. What I like most about this company is the friendly, personal, one on one service offered by Karen and Ricardo the delightful couple that owns and operates this company. Diving with them is a pleasant departure from the impersonal ´dive factory´ type approach you get with many of the larger operations there.
I first met Karen in 2005 when I was lucky enough to get her as my instructor for my Advanced Open Water course in Cozumel. This lady is a gifted diver and teacher and a lot of fun to dive with. With her rich Dutch/German heritage comes a highly professional, technically rigourous approach to training that invariably turns out good, capable divers, who are also well versed in the finer points of diving etiquette.
I most recently worked closely with Karen and Ricardo in completing the PADI Dive Master course. Let me tell you these two are great to work with. With a couple of degrees and 5 languages between them, they run a customer centric, highly professional operation that offers value and enjoyment to divers of all levels.
I think on my next trip to Cozumel I will rent one of the beach properties Karen manages and join Ricardo on one of his tours to the legendary Cenotes, reputed to be some of the finest cave diving in the world.
